Avant Garde Diaries & Mike D present: Transmission LA AV Club

Angelenos and or anyone visiting the city from now through May 6th, definitely plan a stop at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA for an amazing installation experience curated by Mike D. (yes that Mike D of Beastie Boy fame)

Without giving too much away; let's just say it's filled with music, light and art. Get there and experience it for yourself. 

A Designer's Atlas.

We stumbled upon this amazing collection of graphic representations of each state's motto appropriately called 50 and 50. Who better to describe the project than the curator themselves, so in their own words...

"50 and 50 is a curated project which attempts to construct a handsome new way of looking at our country. Fifty designers, one per state, have illustrated their state motto, creating something steeped in history but completely modern and unique: a kind of designer's atlas."
