Mixing it Up.

Our new NO SURPRISES huarache sandals are an easy go to for Spring/Summer. Considered casual yet with a ton of style out potential, these are definitely on our "must own" list.

The snow is melting, (if it hasn't already) and it's time to switch over to warm weather wear. What are you most looking forward to pulling back out of the closet to wear for Spring/Summer??

Be your own Barista.

Why go to a coffee shop when you can make one at home??

We were looking for a yummy recipe to spice up our morning routine a bit and we stumbled upon this one for an ICED CARAMEL MOCHA FRAPPE (it deserves to be capitalized just on yummyness alone) on Pinterest. We realize we cannot have this treat of all treats every day but once a week seems pretty fair.

Anyone else want to dive in to this as much as we do??

Etsy Love - Grace Textile Studio.

We found this great Etsy shop called GRACE Textile Studio filled with cool handbags and accessories fashioned out of "found" fabrics. Alison describes her inspiration best with, "I have traveled wide and far in search of beautiful and unique textiles to use in my designs, from the Thar desert in Rajasthan, India to Tokyo to Oazaca, Mexico."

Enjoy a bit of her adventures yourself with one of her handmade pieces. We only wish we could go where she's been.

Spring Wear.

SPRING time.

Spring is here, which means it's time to bust out all of our warm weather gear and leave the memory of Winter far far behind. (we're over closed toed shoes, just sayin')

To celebrate our freedom from layering, we built a look featuring pastels and bright colors. Our new SLOUCH cork heels were the best starting point we could think of.

What do you think?

Music Wednesday - GRACE WOODROOFE

Grace Woodroofe, originally from Perth, came over and rocked the SXSW festival last week. At only 22 years old, she's already collaborated with Ben Harper so plan on this girl being around for a while.

If you're in LA she's performing a residency at The Bootleg Bar through April - so listen up and get to know her.

DIY - Paper Flowers

(Photography by Hilda Grahnat)

These are so cute!! We just love them and could think of a million ways to incorporate these into our lives. Home Decor, Party Favors, Friend pick me ups, Color therapy etc. etc. you get the point. Whatever or wherever you want these to go, the time for DIY is now!

We originally stumbled upon these over at MINT design blog but it originated over at
OH HAPPY DAY. (of course it did because she's AMAZING)

Click here for instructions and let us know how it goes.

DJ: Wit + Delight

Besides always digging {wit + delight} we found this "mix tape" playlist near (if not) perfect. As the story goes, we're givers and we decided to share it with you. You're welcome. ;)

Music Friday - Dent May.

Dent May is and (has been) rocking the stage at SXSW this week. Born and bred in Mississippi and inspired by the music of Serge Gainsbourg and Lee Hazlewood, he comes to us with his own unique flair.

Combining humor with catch beats will always land in our wheel house. We dig it. Enjoy this and your weekend.

In Rock We Trust.

We found this poster on Pinterest and thought it was awesome enough to share. We've been sitting here trying to think of what would represent the 80's but didn't land on anything solid.

Any suggestions??

How fierce are these shots from the current FREE PEOPLE catalog? Our SWAGGER buffalo sandals went on quite an adventure during their photo shoot.

Dylan in Paris.

If you're able to make it Paris anytime soon, make sure to stop off at the BOB DYLAN Rock Explosion exhibit at Cité de la musique

Curated by the GRAMMY MUSEUM of Los Angeles, it's filled with pictures depicting the life and times of Dylan from 1961 - 1966. Captured by Photographer Daniel Kramer,  the description states, "Kramer's sixty photographs, which make up the core of the exhibition, are a striking account of the folk singer's metamorphosis into a rock star. This photographic "backstage view" of the singer-songwriter - frail, almost androgynous, with an angelic but extremely determined look in his eye - opens onto three rooms showcasing key moments in his musical career, and a dip into the history of American music."

Wish we could go, le sigh.

Choose Your Own Adventure.

Chairlift  - the dope musical trio from Colorado has taken the always cool concept of Choose Your Own Adventure to a new level with their new music video for their single, Met Before.

Under the direction of Jordan Fish, this interactive music video allows you the viewer to choose which way the journey ends. With the click of an arrow, you decide where she goes, who she chooses and what happens next. How cool is that??

As the writer for Consequence of Sound said, "Do with them what you will, but if you happen to get to a section with a giant dragon, you’ve gone astray somewhere."

Shoe Redo with Mark Montano: Floral Shoe Clip

As promised, here is a peek at one of the awesome shoe redo projects we learned from Mark Montano at our Etsy Craft Night. Shoe clips are a fun way to liven up a pair of basic flats or heels. Add a shoe clip and it's like having a brand new pair of shoes! This floral clip idea by Mark is just in time for spring, and you can make it in no time flat.

• 5 squares of scrap fabric of different colors and textures (we included tulle)

• fabric scissors

• needle and thread

• pins

• flower template (we used this rose template from Martha Stewart weddings)

• 2 clip-on earring backs

1. Layer fabric with tulle as the top and middle layer

2. Pin template to fabric

3. Cut fabric and unpin template

2. Fold rose in half and stitch together

5. Cut fabric and unpin template Fold rose in half and stitch together
6. Loop thread through earring Secure flower to earring clip

Last night we had such a fab time with our friends at ETSY and Mark Montano, crafting away in the open atrium of the Craft & Folk Art Museum.

People flocked to change up their shoes with paint, glitter, fabric and embellishments. Above are some snap shots of the evening. Did you join us in the fun??

Check back soon for some shoe-redesign DIY's.
