To Unveil or Not to Unveil.

will he or won't he show up?? that is the real question.

british street artist extraordinaire, Banksy is a maybe for this weekend's Oscars and it's causing a bit of a tizzy in hollywood. famous for masking his identity, while defacing buildings and structures in the name of art, his documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop is nominated and seems to be the front runner for the golden statue. if you haven't seen it yet, rent it this weekend and let us know what you think.

creative genius? graffitti artist? criminal? oscar winner? he has our vote.

things we love: indie marketplace!

The internet is such a wonderful thing. How else would we be able to find out about incredibly talented designers and crafters all over the world? Like, say, The Spotless Loop, who makes the cutest embroidered wood necklaces and brooches inspired by some of our favorite things. Would love to get my hands on one of her pieces!

Face Value. is an artistic archive of daily happenings caught on film. They recently featured Yvan Rodic, AKA Facehunter as the maestro of a daily snapshot diary of fashion weeks across the globe.

How does he do it you ask??
"according to, today's film captures Yvan Rodic as he roams the streets of New York, bumps into Terry Richardson, and reveals the secret to catching his eye (play hard-to-get). the Swiss-born, London-based Rodic got his start five years ago snapping attendees at art openings in Paris. his trumpeting of authentic individuality quickly caught on with fashion enthusiasts across the globe, and his site helped to pioneer the street style genre as a blogging business."

A few of us BC girls are headed to NYC tomorrow to catch the tail end of Fashion Week and just have a grand old time on the other coast. Posting may be sporadic for the next few days but we'll be back on Monday with lots of goodies to share with you! In the meantime we leave you with these illustrations we love by James Gulliver Hancock, whose blog documents his goal of drawing every building in NYC.

We are getting such a kick out of this project by photographer Irina Werning where she photographs adults re-enacting childhood photos. We could all benefit from channeling our inner child now and then!

things we love!

You've probably seen the artwork of Gemma Correll around on cute graphic tees and tote bags. She first caught our attention with her Pugs Not Drugs drawing. We just can't get enough of her funny, offbeat drawings of cats and dogs. Check out her Etsy store for more goodness!

listen up!

a friend introduced us to this amazing cover of MGMT's Electric Feel and we think Katy Perry just kills, she likes cats! luv!

Friday FUN Day!

Portlandia, a new sketch comedy show on IFC starring Fred Armisten and Carrie Brownstein is beyond funny. We love the 90s and we love Portland (who doesn't?) but sometimes we just have to laugh at the clichè indie culture we all fall into now and then!

    Eat and Be Merry.

Everybody line up, the food truck movement continues to spread its wings.

Mobile Cravings is an awesome website that tracks the location and lists the various types of food trucks that are roaming in your area. Why not try a little taste of something different especially when it's brought to a sidewalk near you.
