new internet addiction

As if we needed another thing to distract us and suck us into the internet wormhole, brace yourself, Zooey Deschanel and two of her equally awesome and talented lady friends launched an online magazine. Hello Giggles is the brainchild of Zooey Deschanel, producer Sophia Rossie, and writer Holly McAleer.

"Hellogiggles.com is the ultimate entertainment destination for smart, independent and creative females. Everything hosted on the site will be lady-friendly, so visitors need notworry about finding the standard Boys Club content that makes many entertainment sites unappealing to so many of us."

With articles ranging in topics from "Life Lessons Learned from A Never-Ending Story" to "7 Tricks to Stop Comparing Yourself to Others & Kick Envy to the Curb," Hello Giggles is a breath of fresh air. Full of offbeat topics and always cleverly written, reading this site is like having a virtual slumber party with a group of your BFFs. Now don't blame us when you're up all night on the internet hanging out with Zooey & crew.

Meet Matthew Mayfield.

Matthew Mayfield's sound can be easily described as Jakob Dylan meets Adam Duritz. We can't really say he is a "new artist" because he's been around for us to stumble upon for 8 years but we think he's at his best now. (so does he actually see below)

"Now You’re Free is everything I want it to be. Honest, anthemic and diverse. The songs are full of hope, which in some ways is very new to me. They are the sound of a fresh start. I’m excited about attempting to change something with this record. It could be someone’s mood for a few minutes, the temperature in their room, or the way they watch the sunset driving down the interstate. Music has changed everything for me. I want to be a part of that for other people.

So here I am. 27 years old and still climbing the ladder. Partially because I love it, partially because I’m addicted to it. I still tour in a van. I still rummage through the gummy worms at 4am fuel stops. I still look out the window for hours because I can’t sleep in a moving vehicle. I still miss home. And I still dream."

In short, dream big and follow through. After watching the below video for his song MISSED ME we like him even more.

Get on board folks, get on board.

Opinions Please.

Jumpsuit, pantsuit, playsuit = whatever it's called we're digging it. It's for those times when you don't feel like wearing a dress but want the ease of throwing something on and getting out the door.

We took the liberty of putting together a look below that screams laid back with a ladylike twist. We think it works.

More importantly what do you think?

Everyone, yes Everyone.

We all use different forms of expression throughout our lives, so why not add another to the mix. Drum roll....wait for it.... your cell phone!!

Society 6 is an artist haven that houses awesome wares and finds and boasts over 365 pages of different iPhone cover designs. You could spend an entire day looking through their massive inventory. (There's something for everyone. And by everyone, we mean everyone.)

Don't risk getting disconnected from the communication matrix by breaking your cell phone and losing all your contacts. Protect your lifeline and express yourself while you're at it.

Muted Pop.

Mondays are not always easy so we decided to liven it up a bit with a good strong dose of inspiration. We scoured and searched and landed on a few we think are rad enough to share.

The flow is a bit sporadic but that's the point. A little muted, a little pop, whatever works!! Indulge yourself and go get ready for Tuesday.

Elle knows.

ELLE Canada digs our Me and You sandals and we think that deserves a mention. (or three)
A little bit of canvas and leather mixed together serves up just the right amount of style.

What do you think? Do they make your must have list for summer?

Get your feet wet.

Rebecca from The Clothes Horse featured our Sleep under the Stars sandals on her blog and we thought this photo in particular captured just how rad they are. (Hello best seller)

The Black Keys, revisited.

(Courtesy of Urb)

Good music seems to be in abundance lately and were super stoked about it. The Black Keys are playing at Summerfest music festival tonight in Milwaukee, WI with Florence and the Machine and we think that's rad, (really really rad.)

We have been following them for awhile now but a revisit never hurt anyone right? This clip is from a record store in Nashville. Everything about this rocks. Enjoy~
